Every brand has a beginning, but for Blissfully Rooted, our beginning had four paws, a giant heart, and a very special set of needs. When we invited Hansel, a Great Dane puppy from P.A.W.S. of Tinley Park, into our family, we didn’t just adopt a pet—we began a journey that would change how we view our home, our health, and our air.
A Giant Love with a Special Set of Needs
Hansel was more than just a large-breed puppy; he was a soulful spirit who required extraordinary care. Because of his special needs, Hansel suffered from severe, recurring ear and skin infections. While our love for him was unconditional, the reality of living with chronic health issues meant that our home was often filled with a heavy, unpleasant smell that traditional cleaning methods couldn't touch.
Like many pet parents, my first instinct was to reach for a candle. However, I quickly discovered that most store-bought candles are made from paraffin—a petroleum byproduct that releases toxic soot and synthetic fragrances into the air. For a dog already struggling with immune system issues and skin sensitivities, these chemicals were the last thing he needed.
My search for a clean alternative led me to the wonders of pure beeswax. Unlike synthetic waxes, beeswax candles act as natural air purifiers. When burned, they release negative ions that attaches to positively charged toxins like dust, allergens, and odors, causing them to drop out of the air. This discovery was a revelation. Not only was the air in our home finally clean, but the gentle, honey-scented glow provided a sense of calm that balanced our nervous systems during the high-stress moments of caring for a special needs pet.

Their kindness and expertise provided us with comfort when we needed it most, and we knew we wanted to find a way to honor that support.
In memory of our sweet boy, we are proud to announce that Blissfully Rooted donates 10% of all profits to Midwest Animal Clinic. These funds go directly toward supporting their vital work with P.A.W.S. of Tinley Park and providing care for other animals in need of a second chance.
